Employers’ Liability Insurance

This is a legal requirement for anyone who has employees and is especially important within the tree care industry, as when undertaking any aerial tree work another TRAINED member of staff must be on the ground and be able to climb and rescue the climber if they get into any difficulties. If you employ a contractor and they cannot produce an employers’ insurance certificate and bring other members of staff on to your property they are breaking employment law.  All our employees are covered to the value of £10,000,000.

Public Liability Insurance

This insurance is carried to give YOU the client peace of mind that we are covered to the value of £5,000,000. In over 20 years in the industry we have never had a claim made against us.

A trick that some unscrupulous contractors use is to hold Landscapers Public Liability insurance as this can be 10 times cheaper than Tree Surgery insurance, so in the case of an accident their insurance would not pay out, leaving YOU to chase the individual contractor for the financial loss you have suffered.

It takes more than an advert to become a skilled and qualified tree surgeon so we encourage all potential clients to ask to view all DOCUMENTS that your contractor is stating he holds. Insurance companies will only give insurance to properly trained Arborists, so if your potential contractor can’t produce said documents, stay well clear.
